Hmmm...it has been brought to my attention that there was timey-wimey-ness going on during the night here on the comm, leading to there being two Hour 5's... And that it should by now be hour 12....but this is only the 11th post to the comm this round so I'm sticking with it being hour 11 and then we only need contend with one missing hour rather than two...

So...other than hours going missing and reappearing in unexpected places, how was the last...short stretch of time?

Hello, fic_rush! So, let's see. We've had double hours, missing hours, hypnotism, giraffes, handwavium, glowsticks, and purple. Hour 10 has been retrieved, but Hour 15 is still missing in the Space-Time Vortex. And we will be at the halfway point of the round at the end of this hour.

Pitry sat in front of her laptop, looking sad. She meant to participate in this round of fic_rush, but the Giraffes had stolen all of her creativity for the weekend. Not to mention embarked on what sounded like a harmonica recital under her window. Pitry scoffed at the thought - after all, the one good part of Jerusalem being an overly religious, intolerant city was that Saturdays were, generally, quiet.

And so, Pitry thought to herself, "what should I do? Should I allow my lack of creativity to effect fic_rush?" But she then said, "NO!"

And went to greet her fellow fic_rushers into 5 hours of modding in which she would do her best to brainwash the unsuspecting crowds.

But she did not forget to put her new Giraffe icon at the top of the post. Just in case.

We have attained symmetry!  Round = Hour!

Now that All Things are in Balance, it is Time to Write.  Or edit, or research, or tweak.

I have refilled the keg of plot handwavium and set out extra buckets.  Help yourselves!  If need be, we can send for the giraffe to provide added brainwashing.

I tried sending out for extra brains, but with Halloween right around the corner, the zombies seem to have cornered the market.

Because you don't want to know what will happen then. It will involve lots of blood on the walls, and incoherent words. Also, possibly a picnic with some of that nice cheese that you've always liked. And maybe a glowstick to play with. Not a purple one, though. A green one. Ha ha, take that!

Spider-Rat raised its head, sniffing at the air. There was something there, other than dust.

The Lone Deer snorted. Ever since Spider-Rat came to share its valley, its been insisting there is something in the air.

"Say," Spider-Rat started, "are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

"Yes," the Lone Deer replied. "It is time to write in fic_rush!"

Spider-Rat stared at the disappearing form of Lone Deer. "Actually," it said to itself, "that's not what I was thinking at all."

Plus, WE HAVE WON OUT OVER LIVEJOURNAL!!!!!!!!!!!! The fiendish powers of evil anti-fic_rush did not prevail! WE WON!!!!!!

So, go forth, and revel in the light of the purple glowsticks! Dance with the penguins! Eat cheese! And, um, write or something.
