Hello and good morning Fic Rush, it's usurpation!

How is it going, writing a lot? Thinking about writing a lot? Something in between?

I'm vaguely awake, about to have some coffee to help the morning along.

Let's talk!

One more Usurpation hour, then starts my official reign! You won't get rid of me that easy, Fic Rush! /add evil laughter, perfected through practice

Alright, I've got coffee, there has been talk about NaNo - which is good, because there's only one week left and who is ready? Not me, I can tell you that. I don't even have names for my characters, yikes! Can't call them all X, Y, and Z, can I? (It would make an interesting story though, more abstract)

How is everyone else doing? Still up and writing? Doing something else? Following the siren song of bed & pillow?

Hello, and welcome to my first official hour of the 68th Fic Rush!

Looks like everything is silent and calm here, so I think everyone is sleeping - or enthralled with some project or another.

I'm currently pondering about the breakfast - is a second cup of coffee fine, do I need toast, what about some juice? These are very difficult questions, I find.

Keep sleeping, or come talk with me in the comments!

Good morning/evening/afternoon/whatever it is where you are! It's Hour 15! I have a sudden and terrible cold, and I have to be at work all day! Only YOUR PRODUCTIVITY can cure me!

Or maybe it can't, but it's worth a try?

:(

Comfort me with fanworks, fic_rushers! Or do it for yourself; that's just as good or better. Then come back here and report your progress. . . if you're feeling up to it, of course.

Welcome to the hour 8!

I've had breakfast, now I'm tidying up and getting my things together to leave for work in few hours. The weather has brightened somewhat, and at least it doesn't rain!

So not really productive morning writing wise, but there's still time left! Maybe a quick ten minute sprint? Some words are better than no words, am I right?
[identity profile] evelyn-b.livejournal.com
How's everyone doing? I didn't get any writing done last hour, but I drank some Day-Quil Severe and priced some jars (the store where I work has a problem with missing price tags) and sometimes, that's enough.

What would be enough for you in Hour 16?

Morning all! Apologies for being late.

How goes the words so far?
[identity profile] a-q.livejournal.com
Alright, we have succesfully reached the hour 9!

The next mod in line should be around to liberate Fic Rush from my rule, and I'll be off to put on some clothes and heading to work - I'll be around for half an hour or so, if you want to come say hello in the comments!

Have a good writing day today!
[identity profile] evelyn-b.livejournal.com
In Hour 16, I dug out some prompts from a week ago and tried to continue them, with minimal success. In Hour 17, I'll be working on my Yuletide letter(?) because I still don't know exactly what I'm requesting. I was going to post some "meditations" from a book of "meditations for writers," but they seem extra unhelpful today. Maybe having a cold makes me cynical.

What are you doing this hour? What rivers have you already crossed?

Another hour has flown by. Was it a successful one for you?

Lazy Saturday monrings are being had (I should probably get a move on now it's technically afternoon). Are you happy with your progress so far?
[identity profile] evelyn-b.livejournal.com
In Hour 17, I decided to dodge work for a while, take a long lunch break, and figure out my Yuletide requests. Lunch was a roaring success, Yuletide maintenance was not. Lately I've found that one of my biggest writing problems is simply not knowing what I want. If I give myself the freedom to write anything I end up writing nothing.

How do you know what you want? What's your biggest obstacle right now -- and what are you going to do to break it up or walk around it?

Or, if you'd rather keep it 100% positive, what are you accomplishing in this hour or the next? Tell me your deeds, or just keep on doing them!
[identity profile] evelyn-b.livejournal.com
The aforementioned book of Meditations for Writers keeps trying to get me to cut up a manuscript and throw the pieces in the air, in order to "let serendipity decide" the shape of my never-to-be-finished WIP. I tried this tactic once; it was ok. But I am too easily tempted by gimmicks, and will spend all my days drawing maps and cutting things up and making character sheets and never finishing anything if I don't put a pretty decisive lid on that sort of thing.

What good and bad creative advice have you heard over the years? What's the one lesson you wish you could learn once and for all? Most importantly -- how's it going?

This is my last post for Round 68; after this, I have to go back to work and Day-Quil. Happy fic_rushing to all of you!

I don't know about everyone else, but it's lunchtime for me and my brain definitely needs the fuel to start getting on with my to do list and write. How about you?

Another hour has flown past (or has that just been for me?) and it's time for my last post of the round. How has this round been for you? Have you managed to wreslte some wrds into submission or tick anything off your list?

Dinner is served! What delicious words have you written this round?
[identity profile] lothithil.livejournal.com
So you caught me napping! But I'm here now and ready to encourage you and cheer on your writing. So pick up a pen and do your worst! lol

Tea Time!! I got biscuits and jam, hot tea, and I know there's some cookies around here somewhere...

Tell me about your wordy accomplishments. And pass the scones.
[identity profile] lothithil.livejournal.com
That last hour just flew by! BF brought home Jurassic World, and we're watching the extras... lots of screaming!

Kind of like me the last time I tried to write a story...

I jest, of course! But do pass the aspirin.
[identity profile] lothithil.livejournal.com
I got caght up responding to my last post when I shoulda been writing a new one!

I like the productivity I'm seeing here. I know the question has probably already been addressed, but who's thinking about going for NaNoWriMo this year? I haven't for a long time, and I'm not planning on doing it again anytime soon. If only I had the time and the 'juice' to try again!
[identity profile] lothithil.livejournal.com
It happened again! Time is  giving me the slip. And it's certainly not due to the Murdoch Mysteries that I'm binging on Netflix...

ahem

So! Writing... I like it!

Hour 26 has arrived, and with it I swoop in to prod you about writing. For reasons that are too complicated to explore at this juncture, I'm watching Barbarella. Will I learn things? Will it improve my writing? Who can tell! What about you? How's your psychocardiogram reading this hour?
[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/idlewild_/
In the last hour, dinners were being acquired - an important part of the writing craft. Are we sufficiently fortified for the words to flow this hour?
[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/idlewild_/
We had the siren lure of the snooze, and the doom of a pair of cats on a single lap last hour. Also, a traveler returned home. What dramatic addition of words to pages will this hour bring us?
[identity profile] dbskyler.livejournal.com
Here there be another small Hole in Time! Who shall arise to usurp it?

ME!!!!!!!!!!!

All your usurp are belong to us.

Anyone else awake and writing? Or awake and on the internet? (I'm not picky.) Anyone else in a time zone where it's not even that super late yet?
