Greetings and usurpations salutations, my indomitable fic_rushers! :D agirlnamedtruth has been *cough* unavoidably detained, so I'll be your mod for these next three hours. Muahahahahaaaa... *looks around innocently* I have no idea where that evil laughter's coming from, must be air in the pipes. ^_^

How's the writing treating you this fine whatever-it-is-in-your-time-zone? I have ideas but they're all massive AUs that would take far too much work and plot to actually write. (The one where an elegant super-spy played by Helen Mirren or possibly Meryl Streep and a cranky bounty hunter played by Judi Dench have to unwillingly team up to foil some sort of evil something-or-other, and wind up being this epic blend of action movie and older-lesbians chick flick... I really wish I could be bothered to come up with a Big Bad or some sort of plot for it. ;P)

Tell me epic tales of words! Or just comment, it's 1am here and I know Verity's shift is generally super quiet.

Round 60, Hour 10

I was just looking through some of the old posts from when I first joined this comm, and being astonished at how long it's been. We had our first round in June 2009 (I myself joined in November 2009, though not under this username), so we've been having rounds monthly or every-other-monthly for FIVE AND A HALF YEARS.

We've lost some good people along the way. *tips hat to Sid, up there in the sky with porn and penguins* We've gained a ton of awesome regulars and occasional drop-ins. We've had super-long rounds, super-busy rounds, DDoS-interrupted rounds, rounds where no hours went missing, rounds with comments on every single post; we've had crackfic, gifs, exploding chairs, poisoned confetti, a whole menagerie of animals, and more running jokes than you can shake a glowstick at. ^_^

Here's to those who went before... *moment of silence* ...and here's to the next five years and counting! :D *explodes inflatable chair filled with confetti and alien fish*

Round 60, Hour 8

I'm slightly more awake, and others have gone to sleep, so everything is as it should be in the Fic Rush hour number eight. :)

There are people writing too, and I will join those ranks the second I figure out what to write. Before I took my computer to the repair shop, I tossed all my files into the external hard drive, and now I've spent days shifting through them to see what I want to throw back to my computer. Oh boy, that's a weird chore!

So far I've noticed that I have tendency to write beginnings, I've found at least twenty mysterious files with hundred lines and nothing else. Also it seems that I like to give up on a story after 10K, instead finishing them o.O So far I've found four stories like that. Very strange!

Too bad I can't take my writing brain to a repair shop... I could use it! :D

Suddenly, a wild pack of penguins come rollicking through the house, throwing fish and ice cubes everywhere! The llamas are packing, the ewes are static, and the octopi are, um... doing what they do.

We have hit past the midway point and the Fictions are going strong!! Teas and root beers have been drunk! Dinners consumed! Naps had! THINGS ACCOMPLISHED for 25,000 points in the Life Game! There have been words and penguins and alien fishes and ear-melting attempts to karaoke. (Bless.) All we are waiting for now is the ninjas.
