We are gathered here to celebrate a very special Round of our beloved Fic_Rush, Round 100! This marks our 100th gathering (give or take some timey-wimeyness), as well as 10 years of Fic_Rush, founded in 2009 by studyofrunning. *raucous applause*
There are surprise microwave cookies on the food table, the penguins are dressed in their most flattering bowties, the Time Chicken is monitoring the Void closely, the plot bunnies are tended to and the squirrels are at bay. If you look under your chairs you will find some glowsticks, a word net, and a complementary silly hat that is also complimentary! Also, everyone receives one 2x4; what you do with your plank of wood is at your discretion.

sidlj Memorial Round!
For those who are new to this group, Sid was one of our long-term members. She was a member of the Fic Rush Highly Irregular Mod Squad Reserves, with the title Penguin-At-Large. She was primarily a Stargate fan (although she loved many other things), and was a leading light amongst Jack/Daniel slashers. I'm not a slasher myself, and I only read porn occasionally, and she had ME firmly in her cadre of fans.
She was also warm and welcoming, inclusive and encouraging. We lost her almost a year ago, and I miss her. She would have loved to be here for Round 69.
So, in her honour, feel free to write ALL THE PORNS. Or none of the porns, if your fancy does not lie there. Write something rich in character, with or without snarky dialogue. Research an interesting period or practice, and weave the research beautifully into your writing. In her honour, say hi to a newbie in your group, make an encouraging joke or a supportive comment, throw out a prompt or respond to a prompt or watch an episode of your favourite show. It's all good.
The next several hours are a Free-For-All Usurpation Orgy. Be nice, have fun, and write ALL THE THINGS!

We had our first round in June 2009 (I myself joined in November 2009, though not under this username), so we've been having rounds monthly or every-other-monthly for FIVE AND A HALF YEARS.
We've lost some good people along the way. *tips hat to Sid, up there in the sky with porn and penguins* We've gained a ton of awesome regulars and occasional drop-ins. We've had super-long rounds, super-busy rounds, DDoS-interrupted rounds, rounds where no hours went missing, rounds with comments on every single post; we've had crackfic, gifs, exploding chairs, poisoned confetti, a whole menagerie of animals, and more running jokes than you can shake a glowstick at. ^_^
Here's to those who went before... *moment of silence* ...and here's to the next five years and counting! :D *explodes inflatable chair filled with confetti and alien fish*

- Remember good things about Sid;
