Here we are at hour 31 of the Fic_Rush. I have two cats, asleep, at my right hand, a sweating glass of pomegranate soda on my left, and hours to go before I sleep.

And another penguin melting on my desk.

Rico:
Urg! Ack! Hork!
... mumble...

Translation:
Hope the writing is going well. The night (at my current position on the globe) is good for writing... no interruptions. There's a lightning storm brewing over the central plains. I can smell ozone.

... or that could be the dynamite I ate earlier...

My soda is gone and my ice cubes are melting. I'm starting to envy the kitties sleeping on their cat-tree.

The Private has something to say, but he is way too shy for public speaking.

P is for Plothole! Which is what I woke up and realized I have. There is coffee brewing, and also a solution to the gigantic gaping fissure smack in the middle of my plot brewing.

The penguins are off looking up nautical terms. It's not their strong suit. So while the birds are away, the writers must play. Or work. Yes, work. Very hard.

Yup.

I spent hour 40 writing angry poetry... How was your hour 40? I think it's time to kick the birds to the curb and bust out the glow-sticks for the last eight hours of rushing!

The end is in sight!  We have only a few more hours before fic_rush ends (this month, anyway).  But much can be done in four hours.

Will there be writing?  Editing?  Posting?  Research?  "Research"?  Sudden blinding flashes of inspiration?  Visitations from the muse?  Unforeseen attacks by ninja aardvarks?  Easily foreseen attacks by time-traveling singing penguins?

Only time will tell.  Tell, time.  Tell!

 Here I am, in a new and improved hour on Sunday but don't get use to it. I've learnt by now that my hours are always changing, and change isn't a bad thing :D

For my part, I have set the fic aside and added about 900 words to a long-overdue post about one of my writing techniques.  traycer_ asked me to do the write-up (about a month ago!) and I haven't been able to get anywhere with it!

Of course, it's probably going to be unreadably long.  Ack.

But there is still time for writing!  I summon the wordses!!

Round 18, Hour 4, part II

Aha!  I thought so!

When Hour 46 overwrote Hour 4, it would appear that the hours did not simply swap places.  Apparently Hour 4, on being struck by Hour 46, actually split in two, one half being left to drift in time while the other half settled into Hour 46's place.

So here we are:  a whole extra hour to love and cherish and adore and write in.

ETA:  And have cookies!!

I'm not even sure it will only last an hour.  (Hey, have you ever wondered what would happen if you left the parentheses open on an incomplete senten
