How's it tumbling along, fic-rushers? I finally managed to settle down to do a little bit of writing, though it is not going the way I'd planned.

How do you do it when a story starts taking unexpected twists? Do you go with the flow or try to take it back to its path?

Tone is something I often change in editing, if needed. When the first draft is being a bitch, sometimes all I can do is get it down, somehow, just so that I've got something to tear apart and rebuild. I've had to let go of the idea that I lose somehow if I write something that I don't keep. Any time spent writing is a move forwards, even the time spent poking into dead ends.
