I got down to starting to type out this other story, decided I was definitely not doing a prologue, then wrote the first two paragraphs of chapter one and discovered I'd written a prologue.
So, there's a prologue. Probably as Frankie Howerd would say, or something... It has 275 words. :-)
I now know about what's going to happen when (some of) my main dudes finally reach the Big Deus Ex Machina Device That Doesn't Really Work. Now if only I had a really interesting idea for what should happen when they try to use it....
That's a really weird thing for a not-quite-time-machine to do. But! There's a character who eats constantly and I'm gonna have to get that phrase into the fic somewhere now.
