Round 78, Hour 22

Another hour down and I even managed to get some words out! (Only about 250 of them but words!)

My whole life at the moment seems to revolve around my newly diagnosed diabetic cat (see icon). I have to check his blood glucose and give insulin twice a day (funfunfun for my needle phobia), and try to get him to eat - he doesn't really want to, but is still drinking water and peeing non-stop, so I think I'm going to have to mix his food with water and squirt it down his throat.

As for all the stabbing, I seem to have got the hang of the insulin and he doesn't notice the needle going in, but I'm absolutely hopeless at the ear stick - I have to keep poking at the poor boy until I either get enough blood for the strip (I've managed once in three days or he starts telling me that I'd better stop this Right Freaking Now or he'll Bite The Hell Out of me (every other time).

But I swear I'm going to write something - anything - this weekend because I haven't been able to cone up with anything since last month's Fic Rush.

There was a change of plan - just as I was going to get the ear-stabbing kit, Hulkie ate some crunchies of his own volition, so I put off the stabbing for half an hour so that he doesn't associate eating with getting sharp pointy things stuck in his ears :)

I got something to eat for myself while I waited, so that's something else on my To-Do list out of the way. Now I'm going to ear-stab, then feed the menagerie (3 more cats as well as Hulkie, assorted ages and food fads ::sigh::), give The Hulk his insulin, then settle down and do some canon review for the two fandom giftboxes I want to write something for. I've actually had a plot bunny nibble cautiously at my ankle for one of them in the last hour, so I'll work on that one first.
