Dinner is et. Kittehs are petted. Movie is queue'd. I haven't written anything lately, but I've been reading. Lovecraft. Poe. A dabble of Omar Khayyam.

What have you read lately, that inspires/stimulates/distracts you?

I've been reading (or listening to) Terry Pratchett, Lois McMaster Bujold, Dorothy Sayers, Georgette Heyer, and Ian Fleming.

And I have just sat down after a couple of hours of carefully painting a dragon. My back aches. And it's only a rather small dragon! It'd be tough painting a big one!

That's easier in this case; it's a wingless dragon, so it can't fly away. But I have to get it drunk so that it doesn't roll over on its back and mess up all the work.

I've about caught up on Ursula Vernon's kid/teen books and am pondering reading her ebooks for adults... I wish they had 'em at the library, but they don't.

I need to write her and mention that her latest middle-grade book, "Castle Hangnail", reminds me a lot of the Chrestomanci series in tone and in the handling of the magic. I think she'd be well chuffed to hear that. :-)
