Round 69, Hour 11

We seem to have gone timey-wimey already, but I have made a nice warm nest for hour 10 until we need it.

I'm in the library, having got my commitments a bit muddled up - but since I'm studying the period where most of my fandoms are set, I nearly always find out something that tells me more about the characters or their world, even in the driest of books.

What's the oddest place you've found inspiration? How are your words going?

I can find inspiration almost everywhere: a TV Series, the weather outside, some stupid customer at work ... but it's one thing to find inspiration and quite another one to put it into words later. ;)

Speaking of words: I've just finished a short (okay, very short) ficlet for Christmas = 586 words written during the last two hours.

Yuletide ficcery today. 1,000 words down. I estimate around 9,000 to go, but we'll see how that pans out.

I am seriously impressed - my Yuletide story still stands at 0 words, and I've only once written a story longer than 1000 words in my life. Good luck with the rest of the words!

I guess different people are comfortable with different lengths. I tend to like somewhere between 5 - 10,000 words. I'm in awe of people who write novels, even my most complex and extended looking plot outlines never get me much over 30,000 words and they take yonks to write.

Yup, we lost an hour, probably because I messed up the European time zones when I did the schedule. Should be better next time.

Just think of all the hanky-panky that might have been happening during that undocumented hour! o_O

When I was writing MacGyver stories, I could get inspirations from pretty near everything. Missy and I used to joke about Mac riding along in my head, picking up random objects when he saw them and fiddling with them.

I thought at first I'd got mixed up between hour 10 and 10am, but then I decided my 9 and EET's 11 were probably the same thing. But we caught up! :-)
