Another hour, and I have breakfast!

My main task for this morning is signing up for Yuletide, and I'm quite nervous, as I've never done it before. Does anyone have advice? Stories to tell?

Are you signing up for any challenges? What are your aims for the hour?

After a day full of babysitting, no internet, and a surprise nap when I got home (I just sat down to take off my shoes, suddenly it was three hours later), I finally managed to get 495 words out.

Only to realize that I have written myself into a corner and have no clue where I'm going to take it :/ Or maybe I should just go to bed for real.

I've signed up for Yuletide! It's my... *counts* 6th time!! (How did that happen? I only just decided to sign up for the very first time the other year... in 2010). I'll have to go back and double check exactly what I offered before it closes, though, in case it was something foolish.

The only advice I have is to make sure you request things you really want and offer things you genuinely feel happy writing (because otherwise Murphy's Law will enact upon you and you'll get written/assigned to the one you didn't want). Looking at the letters to see what kind of things people have been asking for in your fandoms can be helpful in knowing if you want to offer them and which characters.

(Letters are optional, but they make Yuletide authors happier when they exist and when they don't (mostly, people are awkward) and linking to the Letters post does increase your chance of treats.)

But mostly, just go for what your heart wants the most & I hope you have a marvellous first Yuletide!

(This hour will be about getting up and dressed and other such mundane matters, for me.)

The main reason I haven't signed up before is that there have never been 4 things I was willing to write! So I'm feeling very brave now, but it's hard to know what I'm happy writing before I've tried! I think I've got a fairly sensible list, though :)
