Round 63, Hour 46

We begin to approach the end of the round, as always seems to happen at about this time.  There's still time to get plenty of writing in, or plenty of words out, depending on how you look at it.  How does it look to you at the moment?

I've written like a paragraph of outline today. I did pretty more or less figure out what's up with my villain though, which I've been pretty stuck on. What she's doing is pretty complicated ethically, and I wasn't sure how much of a parallel she should have with Martha (the POV character of this fic), so I couldn't pin down how much of a motivation she needed or of what kind. But I think I've settled on a combination of drive and rationalization that more or less works.

...But now I'm worried that the most sciency character in the story is also evil, so I'm going to have to work extra hard to come up with equally smart things for the Doctors and Martha to do in order to not make science itself the villain.

This is getting way complicated.

I like having my villains fully motivated -- they're a lot easier to write when they have good solid reasons for being villainous.

Oh hey I just saw this. Eight and Ten (and Martha). You know, the pretty ones. And literally no one was around to need modding during the hour I took over, so no problem.

I went out and bought ketchup and potato chips. Now I'm tucked up in a blanket-nest snacking, playing with pixel dragons, and listening to a podcast. Whee! :D

Most of that sounds awesome, but are "chips" fries or crisps where you live? Because if you put ketchup on crisps, I am judging you. :P

They're crisps but I'm not putting the ketchup on them, we were just out of ketchup. ^_^ (They're sour-cream-and-cheddar-flavored crisps anyway, it'd taste weird. :D)

Plain crisps and tomato sauce is actually quite good, at least when you're about 10 (it may still be good,but it hasn't occurred to me to try).
