Tis midnight...all is quiet. The floors creak as the house settles. The very air seems to hold its breath, awaiting the subtle shift from Today to Tomorrow, that tettering point of Now that has become 'Yesterday': tis the hour of Witchery, Words and Writing, (though some would say there is no difference)...

*Sniffs*

Any and all of the three at once would be marvelous right about now.

*Stares at blinking cursor*

Right. Well, I'm all out of my Writey version of batwings and frog hair. Hope everyone else is faring better. How goes the brewing of the Words? Any magick being made, Rushers?

I want to start a new origfic 'verse but I don't know what I want it to be about. :S

*thinks* Literally all I know is that I want to write in a contemporary setting and not "genre" (i.e. not sci-fi/fantasy/whatnot - I get too tangled up in worldbuilding with those and don't actually write). And I want it to be relatively happy.

ETA: *keeps thinking* I enjoy writing banter and slice-of-life. If I create some characters I can probably get things rolling from there. Character ideas? :S

Hmmm. Modern era. Sweet, but simple. How about a small coffee shop setting? That way you have a few characters to play with.

Lemme think. One of them should be an older gentleman. Regular. Leaves a two dollar tip every day and always leaves at the same time. Might be a story there. The owner that no one ever sees, but he sits in the back of the shop and pretends to be a customer. The waitress that juggles waiting, college and drama courses. The young man who always drops by to visit the waitress and only buys pastries. Maybe he's allergic to coffee?

I dunno. No good? Too much? Too silly?

The recipe is simple: mix two parts angst with one part cute boys making families, and bam! Words!

Also cookies. Evil cookies are a very important ingredient, but if you can't summon them directly from Hell, store bought is fine.

GUH. That is SO MARVELOUS. Wish that was happening for me right now, but alas, since it is not - might as well live vicariously (and with little shame!) through others!

Evil cookies are the ONLY kind. S'how we get so many to the Darkside. Best chips of ever. And sometimes the store-bought is the best kind. I always find mine in the 10th circle of Hades, lol!!
