Round 7 Hour 46
THREE HOURS LEFT.
I say this for no reason other than to give you all an unnecessary sense of impending doom.

Er. The amount of WIPs I have started over this weekend is disgusting. I just started another one.

I had an unexpected family visit and got nothing written for the last several hours. Hoping to get partway thorugh a big scene in the next hour.

I think what I need to do is not even worry about where I left off, and instead jump into writing a later scene of the story, especially if I can think of one that I feel really in the mood to write. Then if I'm lucky, I'll be able to go back and join them together.

But good madness. Go for it! That's what I always do... that's why my beginnings are so rubbish. They're only written cos I can't say "and then stuff happens and now the good bits start". :(

"Really. you WANT to start from chapter 5. Trust me!" *looks innocent*

(Specifically on the chapter 5 issue: I had to develop the characters in the 4 previous chapters for chapters 5-7 to make sense, otherwise it would have been out of character. It wasn't something I could jump in the middle of. But then chapters 2-4 went sort of okay, but chapter 1 bored the hell out of me. And I wrote the damn thing! But I just couldn't find a way around it. Who knows, maybe if I would have written it today, it would have been different...)

DOOM!
Erm, well. Must be time for bed, then.

But at least, you've got the proofreading stage. HOORAY!

At least you can go to bed knowing that you got a whole first draft done, even if it turns out to make no sense.

It's never ceases to amaze me how many things I spot once it's printed on paper - it must be filtered through a different part of the brain than when it's on the screen? Good luck!
