I got about 450 words written in the last hour, so I'm okay with that. Stalled out for a moment because I think it's time to transition from angst to action.
Oh not the WIP OF DOOM just yet. Maybe during the hockey tonight. Right now it's post-CA:TWS Clint whump/Natasha badassery. Because if it doesn't get written nothing else will.
*yawns* Good morning! I have woken up and read fic_rush.
Last night I tried to write a PWP to see if I could, and of all the silly things to have trouble with, it's the POV that's kicking my butt. o_O Elbows? Behaving fine. Words for genitalia? Not any more obnoxious than they're contractually obligated to be. The fact that as author I'm necessarily inside both characters' heads at once? Completely impossible to deal with, seems as if. :P
I'm gonna go have breakfast before I tussle with this any more.
Other than the notion that the object is endorphins instead of, oh, money or food or whatever, the basics of narrative still apply. You don't need to hop from one POV to the other just because it's sex, unless the storytelling will be improved by it.
You can ask yourself how the POV would go if they were shopping or taking a walk or looking at scenery, and use that as a guideline. One person does something, the other experiences it and responds and then observes the response, which leads to the next thing being done, etc.
I've finished the knitting project, and it turned out pretty well. There are a few other costume things I need to do, but I don't know if I'll tackle them this weekend. I think it's time for some lunch before I try to work on any writing.
This is a side-community for fic_rush, where we post our hourly posts during rounds. If you've wandered in here by accident, you'll want to go there instead.
If you're with fic_rush and have just shown up, look for most recent hourly post.
