My mind boggles at the effort/talent it must take to translate a fic - I can just about process one language in my head, let alone two at once so kudos!
I'm translating something into French as my art claim for a big bang. It's taking fivever, but I feel like I'm much better at it than drawing (which isn't saying much :P)
I wrote already! ^_^ I wrote an angry free-verse poem-essay in defence of safe spaces, over on Tumblr. Couple hundred words, which is excellent considering that I've been coughing up my lungs for the past week or so. :P
Now I'm gonna rest for a while and play video games. ;-)
Okay, this time I want to finish the chapter I'm writing on my SGU fic, polish it and post it on Sunday.
Finish the podfic editing job of file 10, and start on file 11.
If my beta sends back the next chapter for my Avengers fic, I'll go over it and post it
Beta an Avenger fic for a buddy.
I've got a new writing aid. I listen to Gaelic and Gaidhlig (Scots Gaelic) while I'm writing. I can't understand a word of it, but the songs are so beautiful and just kind of help my creativity to work better. If I can understand the lyrics, the songs sometimes pull me away from the story I'm writing.
Here's one I really love.
Chuir m'Athair Mise Dha'n Taigh Charraideach (My Father Sent Me to the House of Sorrow), incorporating Seudan a'Chuain (Jewels of the Ocean (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dd_tMOHteas) The main singer is Karen Matheson and this is from the Highland Sessions.
And that is really rather beautiful. I do the same thing with African music, can't understand a word of it but it really gets the creative process going :)
I'm so bad at reccing things, people ask if I've read anything good lately and I always have about 50 things come to mind but links for none of them =/
I won't even get started on sticking to a single prompt/what I'm meant to do...

Date: 2014-02-22 12:36 am (UTC)the goals are:
1. To stop falling down so hard on reccing things for Calufrax
2. To finish a fic for blakefest which is actually the prompt I was given.
