I've opened a Word doc.  It holds a WIP.  It has not exploded!

I have eaten tacos, popped a cork, and, since this is an informal round, I started without you! I've written a double drabble and done research for another prompt. *raises glass* Cheers!

I'm here and I'm sober. That's two points for me already and I've not even started writing yet ;)

I cracked open my bottle of Cava 35 minutes ago and haven't finished the first glass yet. I decided to wash my supper dishes, rinse recylables, and deliver a package to my neighbor that I had signed for.

Which is all very well and good, but does not contribute to drunk!writing in the least! :-D

I think the "sober" part might be unnecessary, depending on your preferences.

If you happen to be trying to write a fic about Norwegian and Egyptian Christmas customs, it's best to be fairly sober. Or, sure as shootin', some nitpicky Scandinavian Coptic will come along and inform you you got it wrong!

Tell them that it's a slightly different Scandinavian Coptic sect, one that hasn't been fully documented. Then have another drink.

I'm pretty sure a glass of bubbly has never lasted an hour and a half before. I've been researching so haaaard!

Sometimes I look at what I write sober and honestly have no clue what I wrote. Now imagine that drunk. I'm putting it on the necessary side of the fence for the sake of my spell checker :P

And that way I can claim good girl points for putting words before my bottle of white wine, a sign that I'm being uncharacteristically responsible with my deadlines (bwhahahaha - get back to me in an hour).

Also thinking about it, the last time I tried to drink and write, I nearly lost my laptop in a tragic Southern Comfort and Lemonade accident. It was a very sticky situation...

It really was and I was drunk at the time so I couldn't comprehend the need to clean it up properly. Wasn't good in the morning but luckily the laptop was unharmed, short of being a little tipsy :P

That's true, it tried to get off with my eReader in the stationary closet. Red faces all round.
