This Rush_Fic hourly topic is: spirit animals.  I have been seeing bears everywhere lately. Not real ones. Just on the news, in random TV channel surfings, and last night, I met three different bears in a dream. I think it is  time to look up my animal chart and see what my messages might be.

Anyone else been visited by animals lately?

I HAVE CONQUERED THE MYSTERIES OF PDF CREATION. It was a dramatic last-minute reversal! The technology nearly defeated me! BUT I HAVE WON. I have a PDF! :D

...now I just need several more. ;-) Really, that should be easier now that I've got the hang of the process again, though. The last time I created a PDF without Acrobat was over four years ago.

I could be flip and say that the only animals I've met lately are a cocker spaniel who keeps begging to go out and a cat who purrs and bites me, sometimes simultaneously. ;-)

On the subject of quasi-psychic phenomena, though, I did have kind of a cool experience the other day. I'd called on some of my favorite fictional characters / role models to serve as guardian angels for me while I was in the hospital, so I could sleep instead of freaking out every time the nurses made rounds. :P And the evening after the night I started doing that, I had this somewhat odd conversation with two other patients near my own age, one of whom claimed that a fourth patient not present "had a devil inside him" and that he, the claimant, "could see inside people". He assured the other patient, a woman, that she was "a bright beautiful angel" -- which I would've dismissed as just sweet-talking or flirting, but then the angel-girl asked him what about me, and he looked right at me and said "Oh, he's a good guy. He's got lots of angels watching over him."

And you know what? I think maybe I do. :-) I felt a lot better after he said that.

I saw a couple of dogs in a John Wayne Western, and an elephant in "Gangs of New York" recently, and a rabbit hippity-hopping away (I think maybe it likes the shade under my car. I've lost track of how many times I've seen a rabbit racing away when I open my car door.)

Based on the amount of rain recently, I think our current spirit animals are ducks.

In other news, I just replaced my poor, sad, dead cell phone, and I'm about to start sewing again. I am working on bodice front design elements, aka sewing-equivalent timey-wimey stuff.

Conversely, there's only two more chapters to go on my werebunny, so I'm thinking my spirit animal is cookies. Which I shall now go make.

Well, we might have a bear hanging out in our holler or nearby. There was a most suspicious pile of dung in the road about a month ago that looked a lot like bear dung pictures on the internetz.

I know for a fact that a lot of bear have been sighted within forty to fifty miles in several directions from my house, so it's possible.

So, I didn't report in hourly, but I did a chunk on the Avenger's story and I'm bring it on home.

Finally.

I've been working on this sucker since last September. I did 1307 words since I last checked in, and that brings the story to about 50,000.

Now I'm going to go back to walking on the treadmill.
