Sorry this one's a few minutes late. I kind of lost track of time.

Anyway, fic?

I am still going back and forth on the ending of my TARDIS fic. I've got all these different slight word variations that I keep swapping in and out -- I feel that once I get the exact right combination I will know it, but I haven't found it yet.

Don't give up! Once you've played with the combinations enough, the right one will become evident. But don't be afraid to save a reference copy, then delete the ending on the working copy and rewrite it from memory - that's given me my right ending more times than I can remember.

(Good luck! More TARDIS fic is always a good thing.)

Oooh, that's a good idea -- I think I'll try that.

I sat down to write and ended up searching for The THick of it fic.

I still don't know how it happened.

I'm also giving in and going to research for the new bunny that won't leave me alone. Not quite sure what peopel will think when they discover I'm looking how long it takes someone to suffocate in a coffin sized box.

... I got slightly sidetracked wishing a friend a happy birthday, wound up discussing college plans and the British soccer schedule.

However, my [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti story is almost 1000 words long. (Which isn't too bad, considering that the offer was for a 300-500 word vignette! *grins*) And the bit that's currently got me blocked will probably come sorted when Beth gets back to me with that information about Merlin, but till then I'm at several dead ends.

I might change stories. How does one go about making up a '60s nightclub? (I need a clear mental image of the setting for that Illya dragfic from last time. And I've never been in a nightclub.)

I've been in a nightclub, but never in a 60's nightclub ; ) -- I think there were probably a range of types, to be honest. Maybe you can think about what setting would work best for the story you want to tell?

Well, that's the tricky bit... I'm not entirely sure where the story is going. I have a few different ideas, most of them contradictory. But the nightclub itself is owned by UNCLE, as a cover for one of the secret entrances to headquarters, and everyone attending the party is an UNCLE employee - so it's not sleazy, but not frightfully posh, either. But I don't have any kind of reference for that sort of mid-level atmosphere.

The show tended to reuse movie sets that were going to be torn down, but as all the movies I've seen with nightclubs in them were from the '40s, that's not much help to me either. And I've no idea how to Google for "nightclub scenes from '60s movies" or such.
