Another hour has passed and that means two things. One it's time for you to drop me a comment and tell me how your hour went and two, that you should enjoy these gifs :D
I'm falling behind on my 100 word goal - 89 this time. Uh. I'm starting to fear that I have to get my Writer's Block surgically removed, its turning chronic.
Also, wip's. Here's the deal: I have this wip which I started a year ago. It's one chapter away from being finished, but I can't find The Perfect Ending - all my ideas feel too blah and I'm afraid to even try anything.
Who has solved this problem and how did you do it? Or tell me your wip success stories?
I have only come up with a partial solution, and that is this: open a new document and (this is crucial) without thinking about it, write out one ending. Try it in the WIP document. Don't like it? That's okay, you knew it would be crap, delete it and repeat until desired results are achieved.
Choose the ending that best satisfies you and chances are, it will satisfy everyone else. After all, you know the story best because you're writing it.
But I have a crippling fear of writing WIPs so feel free to disregard that :P
That's a good point, I do know my story. And its not like someone else will write the end for me in any case. So my style of ending it is, readers can like it or not, as they wish :)
I've decided that this is my last public wip, I will never ever ever doing this again. Never ever. Only post finished fics, that's the important lesson for me.
That all sounds like a plan to me! You know your story, you write your story.
I have one WIP and I am terrible at it. I got writer's block for it months ago and I keep meaning to pick it back up but I have sooooooo much stuff to write, I never have time to figure out what I'm going to do with it =/
I'm a little lax when it comes to getting things beta'd. It depends on the fandom. Like I can't imagine posting a Veronica Mars fic without having it beta'd cause when I started on lj I met some great people who liked the idea of my fics but pushed me to get everything beta'd. And in the end it made me a better author so I can only thank them for it.
But with the other two fandoms I'm active in I don't necessarily get on because I've had bad experiences with beta's for those fandoms so it really clouds my judgement.
