One of them is crowned prince (I'm not fooling anyone, it's Merlin/Arthur) and once they get married...so will the other one be...except that doesn't seem right. I mean Kate Middleton hasn't become a princess just through marrying a price. But then Prince Philip is a prince being married to the Queen.
So, just so I don't have to call my royalist mother, can anyone help? What would the husband of a prince be called? And what would they be called if the prince became a King?

I mean, if you're writing Merlin and any kind of King Arthur (Barring the magic stripped away 6th C chieftain type) historical accuracy is a bit of a contradiction in terms anyway...

If, on the other hand, it was a Historic Purity Detail Maven goose, there's not much to be done except remind it that the source material isn't a primary source anyway. This will send it scurrying back into the library to find primary sources, and you can escape while it's distracted.
