Ooh, I've never seen that mnemonic for it before. (Mine is just "stationery is the stuff you get from a stationer, stationary is the other thing". *g*)

If you know French, you can also go with e for écrire, but that only works if the French works. It's actually a tough one to get a good mnemonic on.
