I figured out where my scene was going awry, and have dragged it back from the blind alley where it was languishing. Definitely an improvement.

I'm doing fairly well - I have the aforementioned 400 words of repurposed vignette, plus 300 new words of Brigadier-and-Benton dialogue introducing my crossover character. (I like writing the Brig. He's got a very distinctive voice, and he means so much more than he says that it's fun to describe.)

I also hopefully have most of my plot - which I actually kind of ganked from a Who/MacGyver crossover I was going to write. (Sorry, lolmac...) It just wasn't working with Mac as the crossover character; he didn't want to be there, and he's not really flamboyant enough to work in a fic with Three and (possibly) Harry Mudd, anyway.

And 100 more words, starting the first scene where I actually have to write my crossover character talking - I don't really have a good grasp on his voice, but he's the right character for this plot. I'll just have to muddle through.
