The sentient beings that travel within her are obsessed with counting off the time they spend, in the places she takes them, within her walls, of their lives in general. Even her own pilot goes through phases of being obsessed with clocks and calendars. She blames it on too much time spent on Earth. All those little humans, counting the moments of their lives, slicing them down into ever smaller fractions, wasting away their short lives.

She doesn’t understand the obsession. She is older than they can even begin to understand, but she in turn cannot comprehend the notion of ‘feeling her age’ counting her lifetime in those of stars and space anomalies.

Her pilot calls her ‘old girl’, allowing them both to pretend that she won’t outlive him.
