Mmm, the hot toddy sounds very appealing, although it's probably unwise. My weekend has been pretty much lost to a general feeling of grottiness, which is very annoying. All I managed to write yesterday were mouseover texts.

I might be allergic to spambots -- I just went through and wrangled the remaining Suspicious Comments that we've gotten so far. Five bots, same MO.

I should probably go shower and get laundry started. The Shower Muse might visit, or at the very least, it will help the sneezing.

I can't believe I've spent all day writing two goddamn pages! I have zoned on my problem: I write too slowly. Anybody know how to pick up writing speed?
Well, the positive side is that I'm almost done!

Actually, although I haven't managed to participate in NaNoWriMo for a few years, I did find some of their speed-writing suggestions helpful. Primarily, keep going forward. No re-reading until you're done with the part you're trying to get written.

Generally I'm not very good at that, though. I constantly edit as I go, and that definitely slows things down.

I get stuck looking for the right word, but also the editing.
That's a great suggestion, I have to go look for NaNo tips sometime. That folk should know everything there is to know about speed :D

I've tried Write or Die, but it gets bit exhausting after a while. Though, now that the deadlines are crashing down, maybe some WoD would be just the trick...

FWIW, I gave up worrying about speed long since. I figure that if I write, I write, and any speed is good.

Part of my secret is to avoid things with deadlines . . . which doesn't always work, and I have no solution to that . . . *sheepish look*

Unfinished things stress me out the most, so I really want to write faster, so I could get more finished fics.
Like my dream pace would be one finished thing every week and the way I write now? Not going to happen.
Maybe it is just some kind of attitude/technique adjustment that I need... I have to look into this.
