Round 35, Hour 42

Hour 42! So much writing and research and planning and plot-bunnying in hour 41. So where does this one take us?

For myself, the household, out of the blue, decided that we should start watching Merlin, right now. So I may accidentally acquire another fandom. We'll call that research, right?

I started the next book in the series, then I took a break and started knitting a hat. It's for a christmas present so it's unfinished state was making me a little nervous...

Oh dear, good to get a distraction out of the way. Is it a particularly fancy hat? I'm not doing any christmas knitting this year, but I might need to do some silk painting on scarves for spare presents.

I have 630 words about Captain America and modern technology. :D (It's one of those "Steve meets the iPhone StarkPhone" stories, only with SHIELD OCs because I can't just write about the Avengers like anyone else. ;P And with, I think and hope, a bit more focus on what modern pop culture says about America-outside-the-Helicarrier than most of the Avengers-angled ones I've read, which are more about building a family who send you weird e-mail attachments and set your home screen to Angry Birds. Because - well. The pop culture thing, on a lot of different levels, has been my favorite part of Captain America stories to write since a long time before his movie ever came out. AND NOW I HAVE CANON. *still squeeing*)

Fun theme! I love taking fannish source material and using it to riff off into philosophical places that canon hasn't got to yet. Nice word count too!

It's just a simple rib as it's a dogwalking hat, but oh the yarn is so soft and lovely. Apart from an icord necklace, it's the only knitting I'm doing this year. Ooh, silk painting sounds nice!

Oh meant to add, watching Merlin is totally research ;D

Do you know what's hard? Coming up the chapter title and summary, oh dear.
