There seems to be some slight confusion over who's posting this hour (business as usual!), so since I'm here, I am.

How is going fic_rushers? Words written/edited? Things eaten/ironed?

I am off to get some rest now (no words for me but these), but I'm sure someone else will turn up to be Wonderful and Modly very shortly.

500 new words after whole bunch editing earlier. Now I have to write a romantic scene - I don't know how to write that. Uh. Romance. Right.
So I just add feels until the characters (or readers) are a gooey sappy mess? Is that it? Am I close?

Gah, I'm sorry -- I overslept! I don't usually post this early on a Saturday.

And Glinda never showed up at all. Argh. I hope she's okay!

ETA: This is actually Hour 15.

I have 1,513 words this hour, which finishes off this small one-shot. Success!

Personally, I shove the characters into a room and say, "Go to it. I'll write down what you say." The characters have to actually be romantically inclined, though.

By 'romantic', do you mean UST? Or flirting? Or wroking up to Hot and Heavy? Or something else?

Getting together after a long separation & plot-wise convenient misunderstandings (I'm a cruel author, I keep throwing wrenches in the way of romance :D ) - I suppose some kissing is in order, which is very hard to write.
I mean 'they kissed', easy, but you know. Two words. I'm sure I need more words for a scene :D

Yes, two words is a bit minimalistic. And most of the ways of writing about kissing have been horribly overused.

Can you focus on the non-standard senses? How the room smells, or the other person's hair? How the fabric feels on the other person's back? Any outside sounds that they might noticed if they were listening? I'm very fond of using impressions and ambience to spice up a scene that might be trite otherwise.

Why yes, it does conveniently rain outside in that scene, I'm sure I can do something with that :D Also the fact they've been separated for quite some while, I'm planning some sort of 'I had forgotten how this feels like' bits thrown in.

I suppose the best way to write this is just experiment with different approaches, nothing to lose :) thanks for the tips!

I'm amazed that so far, in spite of everything, we've only had one hour with no hourly post! And we got through all that negative time without losing our place!
