I am in the process of vanquishing the perils of an empty stomach (i.e. a pizza is in the oven.) Once my tummy is squared away, I plan to dive into my ficathon story. I wrote about 800 words to get it started a couple of nights ago, so I just need to keep it moving. Keep writing until you get to the porn, as they say...

I did "research" while I ate my pizza. There But For the Grace of God's AU is pretty perfect for inspiration while writing a stressed-Jack-meets-Daniel-under-dire-circumstances fic. :-)

I did 110 words and looked up some research. Also sneaked out and took laundry to the neighbors (our washing machine is busted) and washed some dishes. Why is it when I have fic to write that doing the chores becomes like a forbidden attraction and I find myself longing to vacuum?

The chores are beckoning because I'm falling victim to reverse psychology and my own ornery nature. See, I said that I wasn't going to do the chores so I could write. So when I start chewing my lip about what words to type suddenly sweeping the floor looks pretty beckoning. The same thing happens when I decide to clean. I'll find myself sitting down at the computer and typing like crazy on the next chapter.

I have the same problem. Well, except for the vacuuming. I never long to vacuum. But I always have clean laundry after fic_rush weekend. : )
