Abort, abort!!! Close all tabs that start with tvtropes! If necessary, close all tabs and start over from scratch. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
I finally did a thing were I force myself to close tabs when I'm finished with them. It took me a few months to train myself into doing it, but now it's just habit and it helps me stay a lot less cluttered. If it's fic I want to read, I bookmark it (usually on pinboard, with an unread tag so I can find it later). Research bookmarks go into their folder. I typically keep open my friends page on lj in the first tab, my email if I'm actively waiting for someone to email me back, and then 750words.com when I'm writing. Everything else I close and reopen as I need it.
I love 750words.com I've been using it to write for almost two years now and I have been super productive with it. It really helps me to write everyday. Even when I don't feel like it, when I don't think I have anything to say, and when the result isn't postable. I've written a lot of unexpected stories that way.
Yeah, my bookmarks need to be sorted through too. But I get sidetracked every time I try to do so, lol!
This is a side-community for fic_rush, where we post our hourly posts during rounds. If you've wandered in here by accident, you'll want to go there instead.
If you're with fic_rush and have just shown up, look for most recent hourly post.

Date: 2012-08-20 03:14 am (UTC)This is my last hour, because after that I've got to get to bed so I can go to work tomorrow and not die on the freeway.
I have successfully read what I wrote yesterday, and am now writing more of Stiles being sad. Yay!

Date: 2012-08-20 03:48 am (UTC)I do that a little bit. The thing is that now my bookmarks are as bad as my tabs.
That site is neat.
