Round 27, Hour 40
Mar. 25th, 2012 11:00 amHour 40 is the solemn hour wherein we only have a regulation 8 hour workday left to kick out some serious words.
Time to buckle down and dodge all objects mysteriously appearing from wormholes. Hemingway wouldn't have flinched at the head of a giraffe poking into his study from thin air. So ignore all distractions, and write away!

Date: 2012-03-25 03:10 pm (UTC)I guess today's task involves re-reading a couple of chapters and making all the threads come together right.
Note to self: If crossing-over two seriously competent protagonists, you need bigger, badder villains. By a lot.

Date: 2012-03-25 03:33 pm (UTC)Bad guy says: "What's my motivation?"
Date: 2012-03-25 03:37 pm (UTC)The boys just refuse to blow up government property for no darn good reason.
Drawing board... drawing board. And problematic, my notes for the whole thing are a lot less cogent than I thought they were when I wrote them and I've been blocked a while so I have to go reacquaint myself with everyone and their stupid plans.
But yeah. Not!stupid bad guy would be super helpful about now.
submarine, helicopter, big-assed icebreaking boat
Date: 2012-03-25 03:42 pm (UTC)"We shouldn't do this! Wait! I made certain that fuse was inactive!"
"I made certain it wasn't. DUCK!"
"I've never blown up government property before."
"It gets a lot easier after the first time. DUCK!"

Date: 2012-03-25 03:46 pm (UTC)I am seriously giggling at your sample dialog. Good point.
Also, I may be stressing too much about realism given the Murdoc problem and the fact that in season three of Due South Fraser is stalked by a performance arsonist. Bad Guy out of Nowhere should be totally doable.
performance arsonist FTW!
Date: 2012-03-25 04:04 pm (UTC)And presumably this big-assed icebreaking boat contains, not desperately needed supplies, but plot complications! Bwahaha! And scientific equipment! Plus an extra supply of military-grade handwavium!

Date: 2012-03-25 03:18 pm (UTC)THE COFFE MAKER JUST DIED!
It was an expensive sucker, too. I'm jury rigging something together, because AH NEEDS MAH COFFEEEE!
For today, my plan is to write for an hour, then work for an hour on chores, and so on.
This hour is a work hour, and I'm going to wash dishes, sweep floors, dust, and try to fix the vacuum cleaner.

Date: 2012-03-25 03:21 pm (UTC)Your plan sounds good. Mine is more blocky... mod and write for a few hours, then make the curtains I foolhardily promised I would make even though straight lines are just not my forte. Good luck with the vacuum cleaner. Sounds like you have an appliance rebellion on your hands.

Date: 2012-03-25 04:31 pm (UTC)I think you're right about the appliance rebellion. ::looks around warily:: I have to keep an eye on the refrigerator and dryer, they both have been acted kind of funky over the last few months.

Date: 2012-03-25 04:36 pm (UTC)I just buried my poor old coffee maker. That sucker cost me a hundred dollars! I thought, okay, this time spend some money and get a decent one, and I thought Kitchen Aid was a top brand. But I googled the problem and apparently it's really common with them for this to happen.
Now I have to research a new one. Anybody need research done on a good brand of coffee maker that isn't too expensive for one of their stories? Just let me know>

Date: 2012-03-25 04:16 pm (UTC)I'm not sure whether to write anything today or not. I am thinking I might try typing up one of the ficlets in my notebook & stopping if I get a bit headachy again.
However, I may just have used up vital amounts of concentration trying to write a fic_rush song. *duh*
In other news, we lost an hour this morning. This happens every year and nobody can ever find it again until October, when it turns up under the sofa cushions.
