We enter the final stretch!  Stretch, everyone!

In other news, I am happy to announce that the bonsai giraffes remain solidly planted in their new pots and have begun to sprout little leaves.  The escape of Hour 38 seems to have done some damage to the crocheted patch, though, and new plotholes are already starting to form.  Does anyone have any really pretty silk yarn and a suitable size hook?

My crochet hook ended up wedged into last night's plot hole and hasn't moved since.

I'm pretty sure that if we only had a thick coat-hanger and a pair of pliers with the wire-cutting bit, we could whip up another crochet hook tout de suite. Swiss Army Knives usually have files of some sort on them.

I have reached the point in writing despair, where I am firmly convinced that every single word I've written just plain sucks. Oh, I hate this point.
Though I do have the crochet hook. Does that really help?

Oh, god, I hate that point. The Unmitigated Crap moment.

This is the point, for me, when I have to keep writing, and on no account re-read or try to edit. If I can, I share an excerpt with one of my betas, so I can get head pats and ice cream and reassurance. I tell my beta that I'm having an Unmitigated Crap moment, so they won't do anything counterproductive (such as telling me to change it; that comes later, after the mood passes).

Alternately, I sometimes go read something awful, so I at least feel that I can do better than 'that'.

And I agree, it's really nothing but a mood or a moment, that it will pass and there might be a flow-moment just around the corner...

I've read my friends list and emails and I'm ready to make a pot of coffee and tackle polishing up the next chapter of my WIP so I can send it off to my beta.
