Plots are being plotted!  Words are being worded!  In other news, we have discovered that tentacles either help you type faster or leave globs of liquid on the keyboard, depending on what kind of tentacled being you happen to be.

How's it going?

Yes! Although I have been getting the same three kittens for a while now.

700 words! Only planning, but productive planning! \o/

*wiggles her tentacles of plot* I'll clean up the keyboard later. But for now, all tentacles are free and ready to put words on the page!

It goes slowly. (I'm sleeeeeepy) I'm going to take a break and watch Sanctuary and decorate the tree.

225 words.

Well, I have written 47 words and messaged a Yule!beta about a dubious bit of Spanish (I have a Google Translate stopgap in there, for now).

I am thinking I probably ought to default, as I have one good story that really isn't going to hit 1000 words, one bad story that's already hit 1000 words but they're all padding, and one story idea that wants several months' work to become anything good.

OTOH, if I default, I can then focus on the *counts* at least three other Yuletide fics that I have Definite Ideas for. Including the one where I wrote 500 words on the back of a grading rubric in a school cafeteria because it ATE MY BRAIN ALIVE.

...I think I talked myself into it. *goes to take all the superfluous padding out of this good story and turn it into a Yuletide Madness treat*

... which should be [livejournal.com profile] yuletider, but I sort of prefer the allusion to deers, actually!

I am super impressed by the number of stories you have on the boil.

*giggles* Right now, I'll take "dedicated writer", as I seem to be Finishing Things. Usually, though, I'd have to agree with the "barking mad" assessment. *g*

G'night!

This is what drives me crazy about ficathon word minimums. I mean, I see why they require 1000 words, but sometimes it really sucks. One of those times, unfortunately, being when you have an excellent fill that doesn't make it to 1,000 words.

I just spent too much time on research, when I'd already verified that what I'd written was canon compliant. *tsks* Oh, well!

So without writing a single word, I have 250 words ready to post. I wouldn't be at all surprised if I actually wrote those words during the last rush!
