But that doesn't mean we have to sit around and twiddle our thumbs!  This is Missy, Beth's partner, and she's called to ask me to get the Rush started.  So sharpen your keyboards, boot up your pencils, turn off the capslock key on your pens and let's get the party underway!

Oh, ick, traffic jams!

I have lurked around for a while, but I am going to make a valiant attempt to actually participate, this weekend! *waves* (I do always enjoy lurking in these posts, mind.)

I'm working on some original sci-fi at the moment, throwing plots and characters against the wall to see what sticks. I might also pull up some old Trekfic if I get stuck on this. Or do another two hours of tangential reading about the Kuiper Belt. Whichever.

I do so love that method! Any metaphor that involves dunking and re-dunking misbehaving characters and plots in boiling water until they're ready to behave has a certain appeal. ;)

Hello! I had a scary night with an infected PC and the horrible knowledge that I have WIPs that are not backed up anywhere....

Everything is fine now, but I'm sort of determined to knock some of thoe suckers out for good and never have to worry again about loooooooosing them!

So I have an assortment of commentfic/five thingses/kinkmeme fills plus a longer WIP that's been dangling over my head for ages... which I've just decided needs an entirely new scene in addition to tackling beta readers' concerns.

*rolls up sleeves and gets back to procrastinating*

Oh, god, I'm terrified that might happen to me, so I back up onto flash drives all over the place. Beth's also a devoted backer-upper -- and since she writes novel-length stuff, she really can't afford to lose anything!

And I have to remark on your gorgeous icon! I think it's one of the prettiest I've ever seen.

Fortunately I could have recovered most of the long WIP because I've emailed it out for beta and barely touched it since. Hmm, I should burn some stuff to CD, since I have a bunch of blanks just lying around.

Oh, and the icon is by dhamphir. She offers personalized icons fairly frequently. The colors in this one are simply eye-popping!

Eep, losing WIPs is always a scary thought. I keep forgetting to back that sort of thing up, which is terrible. Writing them up in full sounds like a much better plan!

Hey everyone :D I'm so excited for this fic_rush, as always :D

This weekend I need to finish my smallvillebbang fic, then there's my au_bingo fics, one to post and one to finish writing, several WIPs, meme fics, fic table prompts that can be written. I should also probably post my het_bigbang fic at some point. And I have an assignment due tomorrow that needs to be done.

Oh what a fun weekend I have in store for myself :D

I hope Beth is home safe now, and thanks for jumping in.

My goals this time around.

Do some short 500 or less fics for TS Secret Santa Drabble days.

Write a DVD commentary post on a series I just finished and I've got all these thoughts rolling around in my head and I decided to see if I can make a coherent post about writing those two stories.

I've been needing to do some podfic recs posts and give people feedback on stories and podfics, so those are on the list, too.

I might work on a WIP, maybe either edit a beta'ed chapter if it's returned to me this weekend, or write a new chapter.

I'm also doing remopodmo this month, and so I'll be ducking out to do some podfic recording and editing, although I can have the rec posts be double duty. \o/ multitasking.

Also, numerous chores await /o\ but I could scrap those and make Christams cookies instead. \o/.

So, lots to do.
