I am making notes for my speech! I've got no idea at all what my overall point is, besides "folk music is awesome! and sometimes political! also Occupy Wall Street is cool! and then I tie all this together somehow! the end!" o_O

You can also point to arts and crafts movements as part of the folk revival/resistance to consumerism. There's a new book out now about Craft Activism, and some knitters and crocheters are making things for the OWS and Occupy Boston and who knows where else folks. Because any act of creation, whether it's music or macrame, can be read as a counter to a culture that is ever more defined by consumption.

Oh! Caramelizing things is fun. Rum is most delicious in caramel sauces. I have a vegan to feed so making caramel sauces calls for many liquids other than cream... hurray for alcohol.

I need to get some gas for my blowtorch though, because bruléeing things was even more fun!

I'm researching rifle magazines and which specific models were used in the US military in the 1980s. And I'm a born and raised pacifist so I haven't the first clue. I'd swap you, if it's an interesting kink!

No, no, no, I'll stick with kink! LOL It is an interesting one: puppy play. I've never written it before, but I was inspired by a prompt. And it's never been written before in word deleted fandom, as far as I know.

Don't want to give away the prompt.

Guns are interesting, though, and your research could prove useful for many different fandoms.

They are interesting, which is tricky for me to come to terms with. I've got a friend who goes to a shooting range, we never quite got around to me going with her, but I need to some time.
