Dear fic rush: I need a way to say "Alice said uncertainly" that does not involve the "said --ly" part.

Yup, it's called hide and seek. We always said 'Ready or not, here I come!' but there are more than likely some other variations.

Well, we also had the 'one potato, two potato' game that was more a way of choosing who was it than anything else. Banana could have easily substituted for potato.
