Sweet Sixteen ... I have Iggy Pop running through my head now. He should get out because he's kind of creepy.

I saw a lot of "research" last hour. Including mine. What are we doing this hour? I'm on revisions. Quit talking in run-on sentences, characters A through X.

I'm researching my espresso. Like Pooh, I'm going to see if the espresso at the bottom of the cup is as good as the espresso at the top was.

I'm due to make a second pot of coffee. I shall call that research too, since I am at the spot in my revisions where the characters are having a hot cuppa to recover from trauma.

It's one of lit_gal's, and it's an illustration from Lord of the Rings, Tinuviel dancing in the woods, when Beren first saw her. I picked it to remind me to be happy.

That's Sylmarrillion, right? I haven't read it. But if Beren fell in love at first sight, it's perfectly understandable. I feel happy just looking at her.

I'm not even going to attempt to spell it, but yeah, the full story is in that book, but Aragorn tells the tale briefly to the hobbits, and yes, after that glimpse Beren did fall like a ton of bricks for her, an elf princess, and him a mortal man.

*g* Silmarillion. Tolkien made Elvish essentially phonetic, so you never run into 'y' as a vowel, or extraneous doubled letters. That double 'L' is there only because an Elvish word (silmaril) has had a non-Elvish suffix appended (-lion).

You are obviously a fan. I'm fond of the Silmarillion for a different reason. My son had some trouble learning to read as a little guy, but when he read the Silmarillion as a twelve year old, and understood it, I kissed any worries I had that college reading would be overwhelming for him goodbye.
