There really is no good explanation for the plot. I came into it late Season 1 and it wasn't until Season 2 that I realized that "*Scott* was supposed to be the main character and not Stiles and Derek... and I write a lot of TW where Scott never even shows up...

literally in early drafts of my dissertation I had a chapter titled "The Sterek Effect, or, The Main Character Is Actually Scott", because the disconnect between what the fandom glommed onto and what canon did is critically fascinating

I took a shower earlier and had some delicious ideas for a Danny Phantom rewrite I've been working on, so I jotted those down.
