Round 18, Hour 30

I'd like to start off this hour with a little PSA concerning snacks.

I bought a box of Nabisco Fig Newtons, and I wanted to warn everybody that they are NOT RIGHT.
They don't taste the way they used to. Somebody has ruined this all-time favourite cookie. I'm very disappointed.

It seems we've got a nice mixture of fandoms here, and many talented writers. However, I think that we're suffering a substantial lack of avian writers. Most of the people contributing here are bipedal mammals, and we all know how unreliable they can be.

Now, if you pay attention to the diagram that I've drawn, it will show the correct ratio of penguin-to-mammal---Hey,RICO!! Don't eat the diagrams! No! Put it down...

Hi, I've never fic_rushed before, but lost_spook always sings its praises and I am willing to try anything to get these four totally unrelated over-a-year-old scraps of fic off my back. I'm in Australia so it's Sunday arvo for me, and I'm not giving up until at least one is done. Well. Here goes.

The West Wing!!! Life!! Spooks! And DR WHO/SPOOKS crossover?! Does this involve Eleven and Ruth?! (Excuse the excessive punctuation, but it is called for.)

(On a related but unrelated note, I listened to a DW audio this week which was an AU starring one of my fave actors as the Doctor [for one night only]. His 'companion' was called Ruth and they started talking about dirty bombs, so I did consider that it was just an hallucination on my part but I'm pretty sure it was real...)

Oh dear, I didn't follow through in my brain that you would *read* this... I rate the Eleven/Ruth story about a 10% chance of completion, but it's been sitting there unfinished and unfinishable for so long that I thought I had to at least give it a crack.

On the other hand, the Life scrap I scribbled down two years ago is expanding out pretty well!

Well, you know, obviously Ruth/Eleven appeals, but I am just v happy if there is any fic from you - especially since I know all four of the fandoms you've listed. :-D

(Hahaha, it was totally real, because Ruth has REALLY travelled with the Doctor. IT IS TRUE.)

Ha. Yes, except in this case it was an AU with a really dark, ruthless (ho ho) Doctor... and... anyway, that was what ate my brain and induced fic before I was ready. And I had so made up my mind that when I got better enough to write fic, I would be less obscure. As it turns out, I am more obscure than ever. Non-spoilerish, nobody-has-to-have-listened-to-this fic though. But, yes, when it was David Collings as the Doctor saying Ruth all the time and then they even started talking about dirty bombs and radiation polluting the seabed... I did go to fantasy crossoverland, as I am wont to do. *cough*

Yes, it is! dbskyler used to keep going on about it & was all What? until I came and found how great it was. :-)

No, no, not our Ruth. Sorry! It is the AU David Collings Doctor and his (sort of) companion Ruth Mills from the Big Finish 'Doctor Who Unbound' audio Full Fathom Five. They had a 27 year gap I could fill without being spoilerish, plotty or being funny. So... I did. Whoops. Sorry, did not mean to mislead you.
