Gah, so I hit a part where I was either lazy or stupid in first draft. The protagonist was chasing a mugger and there are police around, but apparently she just WENT HOME. I need to either hand-wave the police thing better, or make her deal with them, which I suspect means hours at the station waiting to give a statement and get processed and yelled at... I mean, I think I need to write some of the scene, but I don't want to introduce a whole buttload more characters... argh. Damn me!

Can you jump to the next scene and open with her getting home from the police station, thinking "Geez, thank heavens that's over, even though I did meet such a lot of fascinating characters there"?

I think that's what will have to happen. Unfortunately she has the love interest with her and he needs demystifying/deawesoming pretty soon. (Not that he's a bad man, he just turned out way too... hmmm... "Dorothy is in love with Lord Peter" for my tastes.

500 words on the mirrorverse D/s. What can I say, I have no explanation. It's mostly mind games and a lot of yelling?

I am now doing "research" for the same, i.e. rewatching the one ep of DS9 in which mirror!Odo and mirror!Quark appear. (Wish they hadn't killed them off so fast - I wanted more backstory for both of them. Which may be why this thing has eaten my brain. It's a weird creepy thing. o_O)

Wait, Mirror!Quark and Mirror!Odo appear in the same episode? Isn't Mirror!Quark in the next mirror episode? Or is it Rom?

Yeah, the next one's Rom. Quark only has a couple of scenes total.

(I don't think mirror!Odo and mirror!Quark even interact onscreen, but... *shrugs* It's complicated. Why, oh why, does my brain have such a fascination with one-off mirrorverse characters? o_O)
