I'm having really poor luck with sleeping. It's 8:30 in the morning and I've been up for several hours. I need more sleep before I can brain enough for words.

How is it that even though you write and write, the word count doesn't seem to get any higher? Huh, weird. Murphy's Law of some sort, I'm sure of it...

Or when you write and then edit, and end up with a much better story, but a negative word count for the given period. Argh.

Oh, that's bad! Negative word count is the worst... But then again, better story is always a plus, even if it means loosing a few bits in the process!

Yup. Frustrating, but essential; you have to edit, after all, and I actually really like the tightening-up process. I just have to remind myself not to get hung up on word count; it's only one of the ways of keeping score, after all.

I'm back at the Doctor Who fic. It's nearly the end of the chapter, but I haven't got a clue how I'm going to end it. I'm sort of making this one up as I go along... (as if I ever do anything different!)
