Welcome to Hour 21! I'll be your host for the next shift. The marvelous pitry said I might try to bring back sanity, but forget that -- sanity is no fun. And it's certainly not conducive to writing.

My mom is probably going to turn up pretty soon and take me away to church. However, I've not only posted my Brig/X-Men piece, but arranged my consolidated WIP list by fandom so I can see what-all I've got. With luck, I may even get to note down the most hopeful-looking of the projects for further work by hand while I'm away from the computer! :-)

I'm glad that Tumblr helped, but here's the thing: if you wrote something a long time ago that you now think is crap, then it must be because you see problems in the fic now that you didn't see back then. And if that's the case, then you must be a better writer now than you were then. QED.

So really, instead of shame, you should be feeling all excited and hopeful, because you now have PROOF that you are totally ready to take your similar concept and now make something amazing out of it!

Yup, Skyler's right. If you had that reaction, it means you've grown substantially as a writer. Now you can leap on and continue to write, and know that what you're writing is better.

I haven't been checking in regularly, but so far since 3 o'clock this afternoon I have written/edited 1,921 words of fanfic, won £25 on the Grand National, had a sleep for an hour and eaten curry. So, it's been pretty action-packed and exciting as you can see! :D

My mom has not shown up yet, so I started going through my most-nearly-publishable WIPs and found another one that works as a finished story already, and will probably not improve if I try to do more to it. So I published it. *on a roll*

(It's a Third Doctor "how the Scarf got into the wardrobe room" piece. OF SILLINESS. And I only just realized that it proves I can create an OC! *headslap*)

When I first got into DW fandom (in [cough] 1983), I used to dress up as Madame Nostradamus for cons. I did a whole backstory on how and why the scarf was knitted, which I never wrote down and have now almost entirely forgotten.

I just mega-posted the last 2 chapters + epilogue of The Thing! IT is finished!!! It is posted!!! The end!!!!

... I probably should have given it another read before posting, though. Some of htese things I re-read and was like "whoa how tired was I when I wrote this?" Coherency and grammar are for the weak, apparently.
