this scene does Not involve the person who knows he has more information than anybody else (except the subject himself) on a certain subject, and is therefore confidently wrong in a way not shared by anyone else present, saying Anything about that
bc why would he say that? he knows he's not supposed to know the thing, no one is supposed to know the thing, it's enough of a betrayal of his friend that he knows and that he never told his friend he knows, but admitting to other people that he knows the thing will only make it worse!
(unless he does like he did in canon, which is tell several people including that friend that he knows it, then immediately leave the country so nobody can try to get out of him what it is)
personally I'm always Team Spill-the-Tea-and-Join-Witness-Protection, just pull a full Castiel and fuck off to Superhell after blurting everything out so you don't have to personally witness the chaos
