Round 13, Hour 48
Jan. 23rd, 2011 06:00 pmThis is your final hour.
Of
fic_rush. In January. This year.
Make it count!
If it can't count, make it add or subtract or calculate an average!
Let the words flow still! Let the plot bunnies hop (but not reproduce, not right at this moment please)! Let the wordcounts roll! Let the glowsticks gleam!
And let there be crackfic and commentfic! Let there be wet heroes and piratical penguins! Let there be alien fish for the masses! (Also for the momentums.) Let there be silly hats!

Date: 2011-01-23 11:22 pm (UTC)Then again, it's the same show that did Good Knight MacGyver, so... :) (I'm not complaining! It's such an entertainingly silly episode).
Well, I'm encouraged by my tunnel solution, too :) Hopefully I won't be seeing them any time soon.

Date: 2011-01-23 11:28 pm (UTC)I didn't care for The Stringer at first, but then I thought it over. They knew the show was ending; and instead of just stopping, they actually gave it a conclusion, and a happy ending -- and in that era, TV shows never had endings; they simply disappeared. I've ended up really liking it.
Given how many old girlfriends Mac had, and the era, a son wasn't such a crazy thing on consideration. I ended up writing a novella that started where the show ended, and looked at the next few months; it was a real kick playing around with the road trip, while still keeping the characters consistent.

Date: 2011-01-23 11:32 pm (UTC)You're right, of course. Proper ending was a good idea, as the possibility he'd have a son isn't all that ridiculous- I also think they made it someone who would actually make sense and was seen on screen? (although the name thing was stretching it...). I guess I'm not very fond of the surprise!family trope.
Although, could have been worse. Could have been a surprise! brother.

Date: 2011-01-23 11:40 pm (UTC)They did a really amazing job of casting his son; the actor really did look related! The script, of course, had plenty of cheese in it, but there were some really good moments. If one must have Sudden!family, at least it was a decently well-done instance.
