ROUND 115, HOUR 10
Apr. 24th, 2021 02:08 amHour 9 wandered off and we have not yet located it. That's okay, we have chocolate and a blunderbuss. We will eventually locate and subdue this wayward hour. *Cackles*
I should have been in bed YONKS ago, but the prospect of People More Productive than me Being Productive has lured me here for another Hour of Usurpation.
No, I seriously should be in bed. The wine I drank tells me so.
But until that Wine Wins - whatchoo all up to at this Hour?

Date: 2021-04-24 10:35 am (UTC)It's just a tricky prompt, Vengeance, and trying to pick a fandom and characters that will fit is hard. This is obviously not going to be something fluffy.

Date: 2021-04-24 10:54 am (UTC)My heating's run off a coal firs, so there's that to clean out twice a day, aloing with shovelling coal, and I have digging I want to do outside...

Date: 2021-04-24 08:31 pm (UTC)Och. That sounds like a lot of work! Hopefully you got some rest, playtime and that digging done without too much hassle!

Date: 2021-04-24 09:27 pm (UTC)The gardening was successful, tiring but good. I'm slowly reclaiming my garden from the undergrowth.

Date: 2021-04-25 07:41 pm (UTC)I want to get my 500 badge by my birthday next year. I still need to write and post another 70 pieces though, and there are only 3 challenges a month, so I try for at least 8 pieces on amnesties and two for each regular challenge.
It would help if the weeds and brambles didn't keep growing back every time I get rid of them. I've put back the Aquilegias I potted up a few weeks ago, and planted pansies. Tomorrow I'll scatter some old seeds, see of anything comes up.

Date: 2021-04-26 02:44 am (UTC)I can see you pulling it off. You put out a lot of quality drabbles in an amazing amounts of time! I am truly envious. :D
Arrrghh. It is boggling how weeds grow SO much faster and stronger than the actual PLANTS we want. Keeping my fingers crossed that the seeds succeed!

Date: 2021-04-26 10:26 am (UTC)I can hope. I've written 8 pieces for the amnesty so far, hope to get two more done. Not all of them ended up as drabbles or multi-drabbles, a couple went longer.
This patch of ground was all brambles and weeds for years, then it was cleared maybe 4 years ago, but of course there are lots of weed seeds, especially dock, in the soil, and they germinate far more readily than 20+ year old packets of seed.

Date: 2021-04-30 10:45 pm (UTC)I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I'm quite sure you can do it. You are prolific and write with darned good quality, so I'm content in the idea that you will reach your goal.
Man...clearing is all well and good, but keeping it clear can be hard, I know!

Date: 2021-04-30 10:56 pm (UTC)I've managed 11 for this amnesty, so I'm proud of myself, although the quick double drabble I decided to dash off tonight ended up being 790 words. I might try for one more tomorrow if I can get it in before the deadline.
Weeds are pernicious.
*hugs back*

Date: 2021-05-18 12:05 am (UTC)I dis, In fact I got two more pieces posted making 13 in total for the amnesty, then three for the next challenge, and two for the current one. Only 60 more to go.
I have thousands of seedlings coming up, but I think most if not all are weeds. So much rain though, I can't get out there to pluck the ones I know are weeds out. *sigh* Going to have a good crop of docks and dandelions again this year.

Date: 2021-05-24 03:45 am (UTC)YUS!! You can do it!
Damn...well...you do what you can, yeah?

Date: 2021-05-24 10:38 am (UTC)I think I can, if I keep pushing on. I've done two for the latest fan_flashworks prompt, so I'm keeping on track.
It's been raining every day for weeks, it seems. The lawn is overgrown but too wet to cut, and the weedlings are taking over, although it's not warm enough to really spur them into growth. Next week though, the weather is looking better....

Date: 2021-05-27 04:08 am (UTC)Arrrghhh. Hopefully it did dry and let you get pulling and cutting them out. Hope the warm weather comes AFTER you get that done, so the plants you want have a better chance.
