Has anyone found novels growing under their bed?  If so, what kind of fertilizer does it take, and how bad does it smell?

I'm working on a Zombieland fic this round. I'm trying to write 10,000 words, so we'll see.

Two hours in, one weird little comment fic down, and one 700 word story that is frankly more of an outline sent to my concrit person for ... well... affirmation as to whether I should bother with it.

I feel a bit wiped out from being unexpectedly productive so quickly!

No writing last hour. I had lunch and showered and now I'm thinking I'll go over and post the fic I just finished before finishing getting ready for work and then going. So if you don't hear from me next hour its cause I've gone to stand near grapes and most likely get myself covered in wine.

I've just been editing what I'd already written and trying to incorporate some of the beta notes I received all those months ago. Added a whopping total of 82 words! But it's already a better story, assuming the rest of it ever gets finished. Still have a bit more editing to do. I'm typically an edit-as-I-go writer, so it will be easier to continue once I have a clean, improved start to get me in the right mood.

I'll be like a reader who's dying to find out what happens next! *puts on silly hat*

I did actually find what will probably not be a novel hiding in my computer hard drive from the last time I stashed it somewhere safe. Here's a bit of an excerpt (which I know is not usual fic_rush procedure, but I stink at the comment!fic):

"Well, sir," the girl rattled, "the master doesn't interview applicants without an appointment. Particularly those that turn up in costume. And if you'll excuse me saying, sir--"

"Excuse me, miss!" thundered the Doctor. "I am not an applicant for any position, and I am not in costume. However," drawing himself up majestically, "if you continue evaluating your master's visitors according to preconceived notions and external appearances, it is highly probable that you will shortly be an applicant for a position other than the one you now hold." Having delivered himself of this remarkable sentence, the Doctor paused for breath.

"Theta?" called a new voice. "Theta Sigma! You've changed your voice, but I'd know that syntax anywhere. How ya doin', Thete?"

Actually....yes - though the fertilizer in question seems to be mostly composed of dust bunnies and mismatched socks. I've a short list of potential drabbles going and was quite pleased to find my notes for a potential Doctor-UNIT-Cicero escapade around the Mediterranean somewhere. ;-) No idea if that will get off the ground, but will be fun to at least see if there's anything like a viable plot there worth doing the research for - assuming I can overcome being intimidated at the idea of writing Cicero, that is.
