As we enter the final hours of our mini-round, I, personally, am still going round and round. At least I'm well-rounded.

How about you?

I, uh, at least managed to start editing? At least it's some kind of progress, right?

I'm around the bend, but not 'round the Horn.

It should since by 'editing' I mean 'replacing all the description goes heres and write the rest of the dialogue heres with actual words.

I'm back, haven't started writing yet but I got some planning done on the car ride to church.

The myriad disadvantages of not having Internet access at home... hello there! My computer has spent the entire period since finals in the shop :-( but I thought I'd at least pop in and mention the two stories I've been trying to work on while this mini-round has been running. One is a help_haiti X-Men/UNIT crossover I'm hoping to finish before [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking reveals, and the other is an Epic Original Something-or-Other which keeps taking unexpected right-angle turns while simultaneously suffering from complete lack of plot. (The latest development is that the four main characters have suddenly decided they might want to be alien instead of human. *sigh*)

Because most made-up alien cultures seem to be boringly two-dimensional? Future!humans or AU!humans always seem to have a lot more depth, because we think we know basically what they're like even if everything around them is different, whereas with aliens the writer has to tell you EVERYTHING.

(OTOH, human-centricity has been way overdone, which is why the boys decided they want to be aliens in the first place. And having some of each tends to imply "okay, these are the ones you should identify with and these are the strange enigmatic ones". *eyeroll*)

Argh...
