It doesn't matter at all when during the 'rush you're able to be here. We usually run for 48 hours, but this is a last-minute mini-round, so we're only going for 24 hours.
There will be an post here every hour, and you can respond and let us know what you're working on and how it's going. We all support each other and cheer everyone's progress, and the comments can get very silly, especially towards the end of the round.
Feel free to respond to other people's comments, and share the support.
You can be here for as much or as little of the round as you like; most people try to set aside as much of this time as they can, and give themseles a space in which to focus on writing. People stop for food and sleep and RL obligations, and then come back if they can.
At the end of the round, we all brag about what we've done. It doesn't matter whether you spend the time cranking out a novel or editing a drabble; what matters is that you give yourself time to write, in a supportive virtual community.
So what are you working on? And how did you hear about us?
I heard about you guys while searching through Big Bang challenges on LJ. I'm not quite sure which community led me here.
I'm one of those people who loves writing for a challenge so I'm trying to join more Big Bangs then I did last year. This sounded like a good way to keep from procrastinating.
I'm trying to use this to write my Apaco Big Bang, unfortunately I just realized that I somehow misplaced the book I'm basing it on. Hopefully I'll be able to remember enough to get the rough draft done.
I am avoiding the penguins. (... (http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11001/1114410-61.stm)) I need dinner but I'm pulling a Classic Writer Trick and having rum instead.
I've done about 300-400 words worth of drabbles for my flist members who have fandom_stockings and have posted them there, so I'm collecting my thoughts ready to push on with different stuff now...
About seven or so for Classic!Who holiday drabbles with various characters. I know the characters which are wanted, I'm just dying on what to write them *doing*
*snif* As long as the prompts are of at least potential use. And the penguin doesn't explode. (If you can't see the penguin clearly, click on the image to see it larger.)
Love the icon, btw! Silver Nemesis certainly has hidden depths, or so it seemed when last I watched it. Sleep deprivation and beer may have been responsible! :D
Hidden depths! That's... one way to describe it...
Those prompts are awesome! The singing penguins made me giggle and the eiffel tower alarm clock... I have the strangest feeling I might have lived that one. Thanks for the help!
No... eesh. I usually save a lot, but I just lost the last bit I wrote once I finally got the damn thing to quit, and frankly even fifty words lost is too many when each damn one is like blood from a stone!
That part makes me *wibble* every time. Even after seeing the Christmas special and knowing that there's going to be another series I get all scared and sad.
This is a side-community for fic_rush, where we post our hourly posts during rounds. If you've wandered in here by accident, you'll want to go there instead.
If you're with fic_rush and have just shown up, look for most recent hourly post.
