752 words on the Eleven fic this evening, which is better than yesterday. For some reason, Eleven's chaining Rory and Amy to a bed. No, it's not what you think! O.o
(Good to see you here, jjpor! I was just thinking of you... my new fish icon seems be about as apropos for every situation as your fantabulous Delgado!Master icon. *g*)
I just got back from the library, where I checked out a massive pile of books all relating to knitting in one way or another. Officially they are sources for a 6-8 page research paper (which I'm actually writing out of my head and researching afterwards) about the relative merits of wool and acrylic yarns... although I'm having some second thoughts, because poor acrylic is so disenfranchised I can't even find print sources in favor of it! o_O I'm required to use some non-print sources anyway, so hopefully there is at least one prominent knitblogger who has some kind words for acrylic yarn; that's my next bit of necessary research.
Unofficially - well, I also checked out a large volume about tablet weaving, and a small one about traditional Russian colorwork mittens, and one about unconventional sock construction. These are the knitty-writing equivalent of "research" with the quote marks built in. *g*
And now I am off to a square dance at my college. With no partner, but the flyers didn't say it was bring-your-own-boy... which is the first time except weddings that a dance I've been able to attend hasn't had that particular provision, so I am going on my own and hoping to have fun.
Probably I will also do some more writing and research (and possibly "research") tonight. Have fun, all!
I'm allergic to virtually every form of yarn other than acrylic and cotton. I LOVE acrylic. So there.
Also, acrylic is colourfast; can be dyed in virtually any shade; can hold brighter dyes than many organic yarns, especially protein yarns; is more durable than cellulose yarns; does not degrade in sunlight; does not shrink or stretch; has a measurable consistent breaking strength; violates no ethical strictures anywhere in the globe (unless you count fiber snobs in the developed world). It's also inexpensive and lightweight.

How's that for a start?
