I'm opening fic files, trying to destract myself so I don't look at the score of the Redskins/Titan's NFL football game and potentially despair.

The penguins have so far remained neutral.

Having triumphed over the latest wave of alien fish, the secret agents of the Hour 5 Strike Force have been rolling around in the fic. (It goes to their heads like catnip, you see.)

Hour 16 was bundled into a TARDIS and transported to Monday.

And I'm about to apply dbskyler's Sekrit Technique for WIPs: I will Open the Fic and Look At It. It might help.

Other than that, I have coffee, and a lot of boxes to pack, which I am not packing at the moment.

LOL, hope the Sekrit Technique works for you! If it helps, I have found that Opening the Fic and Looking At It does not actually cause the computer to explode, despite my firm belief that it might.

Does it confuse you as much when other people use your icons as it does me when you use an icon I'm more used to seeing attached to my remarks?

Or is that just me being easily confused? ;-)

It startled me at first. Now it makes me grin. For one thing, there are -- let's see -- at least half a dozen people using them, that I know of, and quite possibly more. This means people are enjoying them and having fun and getting glee and all that, which makes me Very Smug.

The only thing that bothers me is encountering my images used without credit. That has happened only once that I know of -- a girl was using the Mac OMG image (see icon) as her personal avatar on ff.net. I PM'd her and asked her, firmly but gently, to credit me.

She didn't.

She didn't even reply. She just tweaked her bio to acknowledge that she hadn't made the image herself.

I let it drop there, since there's not much point in arguing ethics and etiquette with a self-centred brat, which she had just demonstrated herself to be. Arghh.

On the brighter side of things: one of the people using a Jack icon of mine is digitalred93, also known as Diana Dru Botsford, the author of one of the recent Stargate novels. I find that very cool indeed. (And she contacted me and asked, and credited, like a worthy adult and upstanding netizen.)

Hello! I cancelled my trip so I am here, and I am not a three-hour drive away from here as was the original plan.

I have some regrets, but I think it was the right decision.
And now I get to do fic_rush today! Except I have to get breakfast first. Back in a bit!
