Eight hours to go!

Good morning/afternoon/evening wherever you are. I'll be taking over the next few hours with the sounds of NFL pre - game shows in the background. :-)

So how are things going for everybody? Still writing? Editing? Negotiating with alien fish for your muse's release?

I wrote 455 words - partly editing and partly writing up a conversation between two characters that they had in my head while I was ironing...

At least you're fish free. :-) (I haven't heard the limerick, but I saw Cumberbatch in Sherlock a few weeks ago, and it was a great series).

Words are good. Head conversations that translate to words are also pretty good.

Well if you enjoyed Sherlock, I highly recommend the radio series 'Cabin Pressure' written by (and co-starring) John Finnemore. BC plays Captain Martin Crieff, Roger Allam plays his co-pilot Douglas, Stephanie Cole plays Carolyn the owner of the plane they fly, and John Finnemore plays her son Arthur. It's a very funny show and there have been two series of half hour episodes so far. You'll find it listed at Audible.

Do! They recently recorded an Xmas Special that'll be on Radio 4 on Christmas morning (and internationally available online via iPlayer) and John F's promised a new series will follow next year. It's my go-to-audio for when work is driving me especially bonkers as it's half an hour of pure silliness that never fails to cheer me up. Carolyn's acerbic, Martin abject, Arthur ridiculously stupid, and Douglas amazingly laid back and full of one-liners! The episode called Limerick (which features the fish free oboe check) is one of my absolute favourites because it's full of limericks...

Hmm... Watch the DW Christmas Special (BBCA has said it would screen the special on Christmas Day - Squee!) and then seek out audio. Sounds like a good way to spend Christmas.

Aye! Though for me the audio'll come first as R4 is airing that at 8.30am, and I suspect the DW Xmas Special won't be on until 6pm or so!
